How to Make Fonts Thicker Using Adobe Illustrator

There are many times when we're cutting words or letters out that we need the lines to be thicker either so that they aren't so fragile or to give it a bolder look.

Some fonts have different versions that are thicker, so in those cases, that's the easy solution. However, some don't have that option built in.

But you still got this! There are at least two ways to make a font thicker -- and both are quite easy to do.

  1. Add a stroke and convert the stroke to a path
  2. Add an offset path

In this video I show you how to do both methods in Adobe Illustrator. Even if you're using another program, the approach should be very similar.
