60-Second Power Ups: Fixing the Resizing Issue in Inkscape

If you use Inkscape and you've ever opened a design (especially SVGs) that someone else created, you've probably had it come up as a different size than you expected. 🀬

Never fear! In most cases, the fix is really easy!

  1. Open the file in Inkscape.
  2. Go to File - Document Properties
  3. Change Display Units to Inches
  4. Change Scale to 72.

Done! Now the design should be the size you expected!

* NOTE: This may not work in every single instance, but it's worked for me in all of them so far. Your mileage may vary...
