Tall Lantern (Deer Scene)

Write a review

$7.00

This lantern design is both beautiful and elegant as well as being simple to make. All you need is 1 1/2 sheets of 1/8" material (11" x 19").

Use any material you like from MDF to plywoods or even acrylic. We added vellum paper from Hobby Lobby to elevate the look even more. It looks fantastic and costs less than $1 when on sale. Add a battery powered candle to give it that soothing glow.

NOTES:

  • This design is made for 1/8" material. If you'd like to use thicker material, be sure to edit the slots making them wider toward the outside edges of the base plates and not toward the center. If you edit toward the center, the panels will hit each other at the corners.
  • If you'd like to use vellum paper inside the panels, cut them at 4" x 10". We used a glue stick to adhere them to the inside of the panel before assembly.
  • Additional Option: If you’d like to sit the lantern down over a candle rather than putting the candle in from the top opening, you can cut two sets of the square base pieces with the squares cut out of them rather than the two solid ones.
