If you need a fun and whimsical award for your grad, this could be a lot of fun! The set comes with 3 different versions to choose from. A large and a small single layer option and a large two/three layer option (depending on the material you use. 

You can engrave info on the lower part of the award and/or on the base. You can also utilize the half circles that are included. They are great because they accomplish several things like allow you to paint a different color or use a different material as well as add stability and weight to the award overall.

NOTES:

  • Watch the overview video below!
  • You can use any thickness of material from 1/8" to 1/4" (or thicker) that you prefer. As always, you'll measure your material with calipers and adjust the slots for your material thickness before cutting.
  • The slots in the design are 0.125"
  • The design is made to use 3 bases that are 0.125" thick each and 2 of them have slots and the 3rd (the bottom most one) has no tab so that it both covers the slots above and also raises the award up slightly, giving it a floating appearance.
  • I love using clear or translucent acrylic for the center base layer and matching that with the main vertical piece and using an opaque material for the top and bottom base layers. This gives you a great look and makes it easy to hide any glue.

ADDITIONAL NOTE:

  • Awards made with 1/4" materials always have a more valuable look and feel, so don't hesitate to make these with thicker materials if you prefer. Adjust the slots to match your material, of course. And lengthen the tab to match the thickness of 2 layers of your chosen materials.
