PROJECT OVERVIEW:

  • Watch the Project Overview Video!
  • The initial size is 4" x 6" x (whatever combo of materials you choose)
  • You can select all of the pieces together and resize to whatever size you like without any adjustments
  • There are 2 options included for the acrylic layer. One treats it as a full size layer like the wood layers. The other includes the use of a u-shaped frame that the smaller acrylic rectangle nests into, making the acrylic not visible from the edges.
  • Material Thicknesses: You can use any that you like, BUT I highly recommend that you use 1/4" for the spacers (at least 3) to give the bank good depth. The rest of the pieces can be 1/8" if you like. The bank pictured is ALL 1/4" except the acrylic.
  • The "Saving for a Change" graphic is included if you'd like to use it. Or you can delete it and add your own.
  • I recommend that you engrave backwards on clear acrylic so that the engraving is smooth from the viewing side.

FILE FORMATS:

  • Ai
  • SVG
  • PDF
  • DXF

MEASUREMENTS:

  • 4" tall x 6" long x the combination of whatever material thicknesses you use.

MATERIAL I USED:

  • I used 1/4" MDF and 1/8" clear acrylic
  • Rustoleum Spray Primer and Paint
  • Titebond Quick and Thick Multi-Surface Glue

AMOUNT OF MATERIAL NEEDED:

  • You can make this bank with 3 spacers from just a single sheet of 11" x 19" material + a 4" x 6" rectangle of clear acrylic.
  • See the Overview Notes and Video above for my suggestions for material thicknesses and number of spacers.
