8 Inch Letter Bank Set with Sliding Door Base (All 26 Letters)

Our original Letter Banks have been such huge hits that we decided to make a new version that's a little smaller (to conserve materials) and include our sliding door base!

These all new letter banks average 8 inches tall and can be made with as few as 2 sheets of 1/4" material (11" x 19") + 1/3 a sheet of 1/8" clear acrylic.

• The files includes 3 different top base plates to closely match the total thickness of the bank you choose to make.
  
  First, cut all of the layers you want to use including the clear acrylic BEFORE YOU CUT THE TOP BASE PLATE, then stack them together and measure that stack with your calipers. *Since all materials tend to be different thicknesses, I can't tell you what your total thickness will be.*
  
  Measure that stack. Then cut the top plate that fits your specific needs and assemble your base. See the included PDF that'll make that quick and easy!
  
  
• If you're planning to paint your bank, I recommend that you cut the sliding door from acrylic -or- leave it raw material. If you paint the door, the paint will make it thicker and therefore difficult to slide.

MEASUREMENTS:

• All letters vary slightly in size, but they average 8” tall and ~8.25” wide (with the exception of wide letters like W and M which are wider)
• Slot size = 0.24”

AMOUNT OF MATERIAL NEEDED:

• Most letters take 2 to 2.5 sheets of 1/4” material that’s 11” x 19”, depending on the letter and how many spacers you choose to use + 1/3 a sheet of 1/8” clear acrylic. 
• Some wider letters like W and M require more material
• I highly recommend at least 5 total spacers.

MATERIAL I USED:

• 1/4” MDF
• 1/8” clear acrylic
• Gorilla Glue Super Glue Gel for MDF to MDF and LocTite Extreme Glue Gel for acrylic to MDF.
